Installing Symantec AntiVirus on an Apple Mac OS computer
Installing Symantec AntiVirus (SAV) requires that your Macintosh be restarted when done.
- Remove any previous antivirus software you may have on your computer and then restart your computer.
- Insert the CSU PPP CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive.
- Open the Symantec AntiVirus Folder on the CSU PPP CD.
- Double click the Symantec AntiVirus installer icon.
- At the first screen press Continue.
- At the licensing page click Accept.
- At the ReadMe page click Continue.
- At the Symantec AntiVirus Installer page select: Easy Install then Accept the default Install Location and click the Install button. Symantec AntiVirus will install.
- A screen will appear telling you have a one-year subscription for virus definition updates. Click OK
- When installation has completed, click the Restart button.
- Connect to the Internet.
- Under the Apple Menu in the left hand corner select Control Panels | Symantec AntiVirus
- Under the Utilities menu select LiveUpdate.
- click the "Update Everything Now" button. This will update virus definitions and download any patches for Symantec AntiVirus and LiveUpdate.
