Requesting Guest Network IDs

Guests (visitors, lecturers, vendors, conference attendees, etc.) on CSU's campus may need temporary access to the wireless network for simple, limited tasks including web, e-mail, and access to other networks. ACNS provides limited accounts for this purpose ("Guest Network IDs") for a maximum of 60 days. Guests needing accounts longer than 60 days or needing less-limited access should get an associate eID instead.

Instructions

To request a Guest Network ID, and fill out the simple request form.

Once completed, you will see your IDs (usernames and passwords). If your requested start date is today, your IDs will be activated within 10 minutes of your request. Otherwise, they will be activated at 12:01am on your requested start date.

Please note that you can return to the site at any time to review your IDs.

Acceptable Use and Accountability

Guest network access is subject to the Colorado State University Acceptable Use Policy.

The school/division requesting guest access is reponsible for recording to whom each ID is issued, and for ensuring that guest users agree to the AUP. This may be an informal agreement in the case of a single, well-known visitor, or may involve a signed form for larger groups of users unknown to the University.

Help

User instructions are available here and in the Guest ID Creation Site. Since your guests won't have access to the network, it is important for you, the requestor, to share these user instructions with your guests when you distribute your IDs. If you have problems with the account request process, or if your guest has difficulties with using a guest ID, call the Computing Help Desk at 491-7276 during business hours. During the summer, conference attendees in the residence halls should call 491-4734 for assistance.
