Responsible Team: Security (w/ Middleware and App/Dev Team)
The security office facilitates requests for SSL server certificates.
In order to provide secure (HTTPS) web connections, web servers must have a digital certificate. Even though the current technology is called TLS (Transport Layer Security), the older name SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is still familiar and very commonly used. CSU has contracted with the InCommon Certificate Service to provide digital certificates for campus servers.
Who Can Request This Service:
Subnet managers (campus IT professionals)
- Requests for SSL certificates can be made through the ACNS web site, acns.colostate.edu/incommon
